Note: The "Trooper" in question is not actually in the military. It's a metaphor, people.

Overheard in Bed #4

Sunday morning, around 9am

"Why are there so many songs about rainbows,
and what's on the uuuther siiiide-"

[interrupting off key singing] "Um. You know, there aren't really that many songs about rainbows. Kermit the Frog was a liar."

[Slightly offended] "No he wasn't. You know, I had crush on Kermit when I was little."

"Well, then name me another song about rainbows."

"Somewhere Over the Rainbow." [Pause, clearly running out of other songs about rainbows]

"Ok, that's one other song about rainbows. See, Kermit was a liar."

Very funny and cute!

Without Googling, I can't think of any other rainbow songs either.

Sunshine, Lollipops And Rainbows
by Lesley Gore

Lyrics:

Sunshine, lollipops and rainbows,
Everything that's wonderful is what I feel when we're together,
Brighter than a lucky penny,
When you're near the rain cloud disappears, dear,
And I feel so fine just to know that you are mine.

I credit knowledge of this song to "The Simpsons" :)

There's that house/techno remake of the Bob Marley song that goes, "Sun is shining, the sky is blue, want you to know that, I'm a rainbow too, I'm a rainbow too, I'm a rainbow too, I'm a rainbow, too." And then it explodes into a rousing climax of cathartic bass pounding. Perfect for bed.

I told WG about 'The Rainbow' by Ween: (of course, I knew about this from South Park)

Many colors in the homo rainbow
Don't be afraid to let your colors shine
Many colors in the homo rainbow
Show me yours. I'm gonna show you mine

If you find a pot of gold
Every little thing is gonna work out fine
In the homo rainbow

Many colors in the homo rainbow
You give me shade from black to yellow
Many colors in the homo rainbow
A warm embrace and a kind-a hello

If you find a pot of gold
Every little thing is gonna work out fine
In the homo rainbow

If you find a pot of gold
Every little thing is gonna work out fine
In the homo rainbow
Every single color, every walk of life
In & out changin, every day and night
From the golden shores of Kansas, to the middle of Japan
reach inside your soul and learn your fellow

There are many colors in the homo rainbow
Don't be afraid to let your colors shine
Don't be ashamed of what God made you

There are more songs about capping ass and slapping bitches than there are about rainbows. C'mon people, 5 songs is not alot. Kermit was a liar.

Gotta think Sting has written at least one song incorporating rainbows, at least since after he left the Police and started saving the rain forest, that is when he wasn't having tantric sex all day with Trudie.
